I attended the annual end of the season men’s basketball 6th Man Club Banquet last night, in Bozeman. Awards were given out, DVD high lights were watched and handed out, players and coaches introduced, and general fun was had by all. Here is a list of the awards that were given out, as best my memory can muster.

Coach or stats based awards


Most Charges Taken Award: Eric Rush
It must be noted that Rush beat out Brandon Johnson by only1 charge this year, this notable because Brandon had 3 total charges taken in his first two years. This was a point of emphasis for Brandon this year.

Academic Award: Brandon Johnson
Brandon will graduate this semester, and will come back as a graduate student next year.

Weight Room Award: Eric Rush
2nd year in a row Eric has won this award.

Community Service Award: Austin Brown

Most Improve Award: Austin Brown

Defensive Player Award: Divaldo Mbunga
Huse mentioned that he thought Divaldo was robbed for the league defensive award. Will Bynum as a strong contender,

Team MVP: Divaldo Mbunga

Bobcat Award: James Hennessy
Player who best represents the Bobcats on and off the court.

Additionally the M-Club presented Divaldo Mbunga with his jersey framed under glass.
