I have heard the Bobcat’s are recruiting 6-8 240 lb. power forward /center Phillip “Tree” Thomas of Eastern Utah JC. Thomas averaged 10 points 4 rebounds, 56% FG and 71% ft last year. Thomas came on strong towards the end of the season averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds over the last 10 games of the season and was named to the SWAC All Tournament Team. The Bobcat’s recruited Thomas out of high school in California, but he signed with Idaho. He left Idaho when then head Coach George Pfeifer (now at MSU-Billings) was let go. Eastern Utah finished the season 24-7, but they really found there stride late in the season. Eastern should put 4 players in D-1 schools this year including 6-8 Darington Hobson who signed with New Mexico. Thomas holds offers from Eastern Washington who he will visit this week-end, as well as Cal. State Fullerton, MSU, and MSU-Billings. While no official visit has been set up with Montana State I believe they are looking to get one scheduled in the next few weeks. MSU and EWU are said to lead for his services.
